Developing A Personal Leadership Philosophy

Looking to build your leadership effectiveness?

Join us for an online course to develop your personal leadership philosophy.

Our leadership philosophy is our personal mission statement of who we want to be as a leader or manager.

Our leadership philosophy is essentially our belief system that guides our behaviours and our decision-making. It consists of our core principles, perspectives, and values, all of which determine who we are as a leader. Everything we do, everything we say, or every action we take is filtered through our philosophy. Therefore, if we are to effectively lead others,  we need to understand what our philosophy is, and to be able to communicate this clearly.

This online course is for new or experienced not for profit managers and leaders who are seeking to build other leadership skills, knowledge and confidence

Course Structure:

1. Two-hour zoom workshop on Friday 8 October 2021

2. Online self-directed activities and tasks to build your philosophy

3. Ongoing coaching from Sandy

By the end of the training, you will have developed your own personal philosophy and a personal leadership development plan.

Time commitment: Approximately 15 hours over eight weeks

Cost: $295 +GST

For more information contact Sandy on sandy@lead.org.nz; 0225726398

With respect to your career, a philosophy is simply a cohesive way of thinking about your role. Very few people take the time to establish one. Most managers live in a reactive mode, responding to issues based on gut feelings, past experiences, and examples set by others. The success or failure of this approach is often determined by your temperament (some people are naturally more gifted managers than others) and the caliber of your role models—two factors largely out of your control. Whether you’ve been lucky in these areas or not, having a core philosophy can help guide you through the day-to-day and the job’s tougher moments.
