NEWS: RECRUITMENT: Coordinator Pasifika Governance Programme


WE ARE LOOKING FOR A COORDINATOR FOR OUR PASIFIKA GOVERNANCE PROGRAMME

 

The LEAD Centre for Not for Profit Governance and Leadership invites applications to a new role providing administration and coordination support in our Pasifika programme.

 

About the Role

This is new a role for our organisation and has come out of a research project completed in 2022 exploring Pasifika governance in Aotearoa/New Zealand. In 2024 we are launching a programme to increase Pasifika participation in governance and are seeking coordination and administration support from within the Pasifika community. 

 

This role has two parts:

  1. Coordinating a youth governance mentoring programme

  2. Providing administration support for our Pasifika governance training programme


Role Details:

  • This is a part time position: .5FTE/20 hours per week with a competitive salary offered.

  • This position suits someone who has a home office and is able to work independently with remote support. 

  • Regular face to face meetings are held in convenient locations.

  • This can be a contract position if preferred, or a fixed term employment agreement (1 year due to funding constraints). A work from home allowance of $20 per week will be provided.


This project is overseen by our team member Steve Mata’ia who works with our Advisory Group comprising of Pale Sauni, Lora Waqabitu, Saveatama Eroni Clarke and Judy Mata’ia.

 

THE PERSON WE ARE SEEKING WILL HAVE:

  • Strong connections from within the Pasifika community

  • Experience working with Pasifika Youth in leadership development programmes 

  • Ability to work independently 

  • At least two years experience in project coordination or event planning 

  • Experience using social media to communicate to stakeholders 

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and  handle multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • Experience in other software packages used by the organisation (Mailchimp, Squarespace) is preferred
