In association with Volunteering Canterbury, LEAD Director Garth Nowland-Foreman hosts monthly Governance Bites sessions.
These are a series of free after-five events, offering practical development opportunities in bite-sized pieces for time poor and cash-strapped community leaders, served up with pizza.
This month’s topic is: Getting The Right People On Board
This session will cover all you need to know about recruiting non-profit and community board members. What makes a good board member, where do you find them, and how do you get them interested in your organisation? What are the three biggest traps in recruitment? And how do you get the most of new board members after they are on-board?
When: 5:15pm – 7:00pm, Tuesday 15 February
Venue: Christchurch Community House, 301 Tuam Street, Christchurch
Cost: No charge thanks to generosity of Rata Foundation
RSVP: outreach@volcan.org.nz. Please note, while the Governance Bites workshops run as a series, each session can be attended as a standalone workshop if desired. Please indicate which session/s you are interested in when registering.
